Bon Vivant Cake Shop

On a quiet street on the Upper East Side appropriately called “Designers’ Way”, amidst a row of luxury design stores and Michelin-starred restaurants, lies the Bon Vivant Cake Shop with its classic petits fours.

Another unexpected feature of the store are the delightful French architectural details. The visitor is initially greeted by a set of wisteria vines in ceramic pots that grace the front entrance. Inside the 20’ vaulted space, French limestone walls, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and stone pavers from historic manors of Burgundy form an eclectic mélange of the classical and modern.

A statement stairway, impeccably handcrafted by artisans in France, leads to upper level with walls of a deep purple alongside stone ones bedecked by tall mirrors.

In the forefront, marble shelves display gold platters filled with prettily colored and decorated petits fours.

A beautifully lit cabinet showcases a collection of fine teas, luxurious gift boxes, and elaborate celebrations arrangements.

Clusters of soft colored flowers and crystal chandeliers reflect in the walled mirrors, amplifying light, evoking the sense of a hundred-windowed room.

Seated at one of the marbled tables, you may enjoy the exquisitely flavored petits fours, paired with premium tea served in fine china; or, if preferred, one of the classic Viennese espresso beverages. As you indulge in the moment, you may hear “La Vie en Rose” or another of the great French classics playing, all to encapsulate you in a thoroughly charming ‘Bon Vivant’ time.
